Citrine has a fiery and joyous nature. It stimulates the creative centres—good news for those of us who are creative at heart! Citrine’s vibration also gets stagnant energies moving and dancing!
 
Normally, light will zip through a Clear Citrine very quickly, whereas, it will be slowed down when passing through a Smoky Citrine; so the darker your Smoky Citrine is, the longer the light will be held before passing on through. This can be helpful during a crystal healing session for the process of drawing unhealthy energies out of a client's system, as these energies will be held within the crystal. Just speeding these energies up with the Citrine vibration transforms them to some extent because it raises them to a higher frequency, but as well, the practitioner can assist to remove the energies from the crystal using their intentions (or another appropriate stone) to shift or transmute the energies into life-giving light. This process can be very helpful for those experiencing bouts of depression, as well, by raising their energies up to the frequency of love.
 
Although Smoky Citrine does occur naturally, you will find that many you come across today have been heat-treated, but this does not appear to interfere with the abilities of the crystal.
